Canadian DJ and blogger Blue Version has taken on Ratatat's 'Seven' with his spaced out remix.

I was interested to see Canadian DJ and Blogger, BLUE VERSION’s take on the RATATAT track ‘Seven’, I must admit in a very sceptical kind of way.

As I’ve said before, I’m prone to becoming overly protective of artists and their music when it comes to remixes, like a psycho-mother-to-feeble-defenseless-child scenario, yet sometimes there are a few that make the cut.

BLUE VERSION hasn’t tampered too heavily with the mellowed out beats of ‘Seven’ and has purely given it a little bit of a revamp. The track on its lonesome has a chilled, almost reggae influenced beat, very RATATAT-esque, a good choice on BLUE VERSION’s behalf as it leaves heaps of room to move on the remix front.

I particularly dig the additions to the beginning of the track, with BLUE VERSION adding in some spacey sounding synths and chopped up beats which gives the otherwise pretty simplistic song something extra.

Well done BLUE VERSION, you’ve passed the test on this one.
