Head down to CANT SAY on the 8th of March for a night full wall rumbling beats that will turn the Vault 8, Banana Alley home of CANT SAY into a vibratatorium thanks to the nights guests NINA LAS VEGAS, TA-KU and MAT CANT.

NINA LAS VEGAS is part Egyptian, part country and all busy.

Forced into music by her parents in Wagga Wagga, NSW, Nina took her classical piano skills to Sydney soon after High School and entered the exciting world of radio production. Producing mixtapes, podcasts and radio specials for half of Sydney, Nina was quickly coerced into becoming a DJ.

While behind the decks at some of Australia’s best clubs and festivals, Nina formed some great partnerships. Nina joined Anna Lunoe and Bad Ezzy to make all girl club DJ supergroup HOOPS, and founded Heaps Decent with DJ friends Diplo and Levins; an initiative committed to finding and nurturing the creativity of underprivileged and Indigenous young people.

By 2009 Nina’s dedication to playing the most exciting sounds from all over the world landed her a weekly show on triple j called House Party. In 2010 she doubled her broadcasting hours, adding Mix Up Exclusives to her radio DJ duties.

If hearing her voice and favourite songs on the radio each week isn’t enough, you can catch Nina dancing behind the decks at clubs all over the country, running music workshops for young people in Australia, and tweeting (too much).

AND...

With an intimidating body of work amassing, spearheaded by the current Bandcamp charting release Re-Twerk, Perth’s TA-KU is showing no signs of slowing down with co-signs from Gas Lamp Killer, Salva, Baauer, Shigeto, Flosstradamus, Nina Las Vegas, JJJ Next Crop, Nosaj Thing to name a few.

The Red Bull Music Academy alumni quickly captured the world’s attention and with the amount of releases he has clocked up for labels like Brownswood, HW&W, Project Mooncircle as well as collaborations with Chet Faker and remixes for Hermitude and Snakadaktal, TA-KU looks set to continue with a crackling schedule set for 2013 already locked in.

From an early output of dusty beat samples, this disciple of The Ummah can cut and chop Hip-Hop beats in his sleep, yet it is his current material which shows a dancefloor edge not yet heard from the producer but already clocking up runs on the board like the inclusion of many tracks from Re-Twerk on man of the moment Baauer’s (Lucky Me/Mad Decent) new mix for RINSE FM.

Available for DJ sets and Production panels and with a live show in the works, TA-KU will soon emerge from the studio to be one of the most formidable live Producer acts in the country.

Supports from MAT CANT and the usuals from the CANT SAY resident army.
