WIN: Sleigh Bells Big Day Out Sideshow Double Passes

14 January 2013 | 1:30 pm | Hannah Galvin

Sleigh Bells are coming back for party times! We'd hate for you to miss out, hit the link and find out how to win a double pass to one of their sideshows!

Alexis Krauss and Derek Miller make up the Brooklyn duo SLEIGH BELLS – but you probably already knew that. What you also might know is that the two are going to be hitting up Australia this week as they circulate our country for 2013's Big Day Out!

This is all very exciting for everyone, however, if you're a Sydney or Melbourne resident, just know that you've hit gold as you've been selected as a potential Sleigh Bells audience member for their very special Big Day Out sideshows!

Since the dynamic duo last visited us Australians, we've been beckoning for more Sleigh Bells. A live show that is truly quite incredible, you don't want to miss out on the power that can evoke from these two Brooklyn musicians.

In 2010, they released Treats – their debut record. As a follow up, they gave us Reign Of Terror just last year. The album is as good as it was expected to be. Not only did it sustain previous Sleigh Bells fans, it scouted a larger following which was very much deserved!

Hyped for their live show, Sleigh Bells would obviously be super rad to watch all on their own. But this is an I OH YOU party – those dudes aim pretty high.

Joining Sleigh Bells for these very special Australian shows will be Brisbane boys DZ Deathrays. They released their debut LP Bloodstreams just last year, and have since gained mountains of respect and love from many. If you're into some thrash with your party, you're in for a treat. A sweaty, crazy treat.

And of course, being run by the I OH YOU dudes, they're not going to just hide backstage! Expect a seriously great DJ set by them. Considering the tasteful music they've released throughout the life of the label, it's going to be a pretty fun and plentiful set.

But wait, it gets even better! For you Sydney-siders, the bill expands as BAIO will also be heating you up with his sweet DJ set. For those who are unfamilair, BAIO is the DJ project of Vampire Weekend's bassist Chris Baio. Before Vampire Weekend, Baio ran a radio station, threw basement parties and spun the decks at many Columbia University parties. Now that you're all informed of this, I know that you're hella keen.

The Sydney show is to be held at the Metro Theatre this Saturday, 19th January. The Melbourne show will also slip in between Sleigh Bells Big Day Out performances as it is to be held at Billboard The Venue next Wednesday, 23rd January.

You can snap up some tickets to these 18+ shows HERE for Sydney and HERE for Melbourne. Orrrrr you could test your luck and perhaps win a double pass from your good ol' buddies Purple Sneakers?
