Now that the dust has settled on the amazingly massive and perfect Radiohead tour, we can now turn our attention to some new material from Atoms For Peace.

Now that the dust has settled on the amazingly massive and perfect Radiohead tour, we can now turn our attention to some new material from frontman - Thom Yorke.

February 25 will mark the release of Amok, the debut album of Thom Yorke’s supergroup ATOMS FOR PEACE. Announced via the blog on Radiohead’s website, Yorke described the origins of Atoms, explaining that “we formed to learn to play The Eraser record, if you don't know that, and discovered a really good energy doing that and it fell into this record.”

The band formed when Yorke needed a band to our his solo record The Eraser. “[We] discovered a really good energy doing that, and it fell into this record.”

Atoms – consisting of Nigel Godrich, Joey Waronker, Mauro Refosco and Red Hot Chili Peppers bassist Flea - recorded Amok in Flea’s LA home. Yorke told Rolling Stone “we were at Flea’s house…we got wasted, played pool and listened to Fela Kuti all night.”

The cover is a Stanley Donwood artwork, detailing a sort of black and white apocalypse, with comets pounding into a flaming ocean.

The tracklisting for Amok is as follows:

Before Your Very Eyes

Default

Ingenue

Dropped

Unless

Stuck Together Pieces

Judge Jury and Executioner

Reverse Running

Amok

Yorke describes the group as “an ongoing and open ended project, where it leads i know not for certain .... which is what is nice about it.”

Amok will be available via XL Recordings on February 25th through your regular record shops as well as atomsforpeace.info
