PURPLE SNEAKERS PRESENTS: Oh Mercy Deep Heat Tour

6 September 2012 | 5:34 pm | Staff Writer

it gives us great pleasure to announce that we are presenting Oh Mercy's upcoming national tour in support of Deep Heat.

Look, we’re sorry. We’re sorry that we keep talking about OH MERCY. Actually, we’re not that sorry. The guys are just incredibly good.

Alexander Gow and co have quickly become a favourite at the Purple Sneakers office, and why the hell shouldn’t they be? Their latest full length, Deep Heat, is one of the best albums of 2012. Lyrically Gow has matured immensely in the 12 months since the band’s last release, Great Barrier Grief. And holistically, the Melbourne based 4-piece have become a finely tune machine, each track as diverse and interesting as the next – mixing old time rock and roll guitars with brilliant melodies.

So with that being said, it gives us great pleasure – honour even, to announce that we are presenting the band’s upcoming national tour in support of Deep Heat. Oh yes, things are about to get a lot more exciting.

Oh Mercy are on the brink of heading out their largest tour to date, playing across the country over September and October. The 17 date tour is set to hit everywhere from the regular venues in capital cities, to plenty of regional shows as well as closing the tour with the band’s debut show in Darwin. All shows are set to feature another one of our favourite acts, Millions – so make sure you get down early when you hit the shows.

So get your party hats on, as Oh Mercy will be bringing all sorts of tricks and friends along for the ride.
