INTRODUCING: Posse.com

20 September 2012 | 4:30 pm | Staff Writer

Widening its scope on what the youth of Australia are looking for in a night out, Posse have re-launched as a search engine with a difference.

We’re going to start this article with a bit of a hypothetical. A hypothetical that we think you’ve all had to deal with at one point in your life.

Okay, so you’re planning a big night with some of your best friends – but it’s gotten to the point where you have been to your regular jaunts to the point where they are boring and stale. What do you do now? You’ve spent way too much of your time at the same old places, so you have no idea what is cool in your city.

Does that sound like it’s happened to you? Because it’s certainly happened to us – luckily today we bring a solution. We bring you POSSE.

Do you remember Posse.com, the ticket promotions site? Well it’s now all changed and we feel it’s a change for the better. Widening its scope on what the youth of Australia are looking for in a night out, Posse have re-launched as a search engine with a difference. And no, it’s not another failed attempt at competing with Google – it’s one that helps you find the favourite places of all your friends. So, next time you're looking for a bar, restaurant, hotel, club, shop etcetera etcetera etcetera - instead of annoying all your friends with countless calls and messages, just head over and consult with Posse. Just search to find your friends' favourite places (and your friends of friends.)

We must admit it’s pretty fun to use too. When you join, Posse asks you to add the name of your favourite places to hang out and from there it creates your own ultimate street (we suggest you start by chucking CANT SAY in there). You can add whatever you want; whether it is that disgusting local bar you dad takes you when you visit, that Vietnamese restaurant where you can a whole chicken for $2 or just the house you drink copious amounts of goon at – and then Posse will give you a hand drawn depiction of it.

It may seem like a bit of fun, comparing your Facebook friends favourite places to your own – but you’re more than likely going to turn to it when you’re in need.

Oh and if you join before September 26 you go into the draw to win a double pass to the Big Day Out 2013. There are tickets to be won in each city.

So if you want to be a part of it – shoot over to Posse.com and sign up!
