Meredith Music Festival Lineup Announcement

15 August 2012 | 12:00 pm | Antigone Anagnostellis

This week Aunty Meredith announced the remaining acts for their 2012 event joining the likes of Grimes and The Sunnyboys.

This week Aunty Meredith announced the remaining acts joining the likes of GRIMES and THE SUNNYBOYS. Known for its ‘no-dickhead’ policy, Meredith is a three-day, carefully curated festival in the Victorian countryside. This year, there are some experimental acts and electro sets among Australian indie favourites.

Melbourne musician Nick Murphy, otherwise known as CHET FAKER, will be bringing his jazz meets soul meets electronica to Meredith. Also fresh from Splendour Perth psychedelic band Pond are playing – only a few months ago NME crowned them “The Hottest New Band In The World”. And where better to see them up close and personal?

Saturday night’s big show features PRIMAL SCREAM, Scottish acid rock band that is going to get pretty mad live…gospel-style voices, echoing melodies and trippy beats in the great outdoors.

We’re also excited about English producer FOUR TET, he’s released seven of his own albums and also collaborated with the likes of Aphex Twin and Thom Yorke. He’s not just any DJ, working  abstract melodies, hypnotising beats and creative percussion.

Meredith is the free festival – nature, new music, market stalls – no timetable clashes, sponsors or restricted camping. The ticket ballot is now open, visit mmf.com.au for deets.
