Live Review: LISTEN: Elliott Smith ‘Alameda’ (Alternate Version)

To commemorate what would have been ELLIOTT SMITH’s forty-third birthday (on August 6^th), his former label Kill Rock Stars is putting out a bunch of alternate versions of tracks he recorded while signed with them, after last year releasing  the Best Of compilation, An Introduction To…

The first song we’re hearing is ‘Alameda’, originally off Smith’s third album Either/ Or. If you find the whole concept of posthumous a bit distasteful, there’s little on this version to interest you other than some different chorus lyrics and fuller production.
