Oh Mercy have released an accompanying video for lead single, 'Drums'. They've also announced a number of dates. Good show.
So you've seen the album teaser trailer for OH MERCY's latest album, Deep Heat, right? And you've probably heard the stream of the album's first single - 'Drums' too?
Well then you'll probably have already seen the accompanying clip for the aforementioned single that has just been released. But for those of you aren't as on the ball as the people I just made up. I'll drop in a little bit of info for you.

Firstly, the track itself really doesn't sound like the Oh Mercy you've come to know and love over the EP's and debut LP, Great Barrier Grief. 'Drums' leaves behind the quirky pop tendencies and jangly guitars for a more holistic approach. The song channels some serious 70's/80's rock, with a prominent funk-driven bass line which is a focal point of the song. Alexander Gow's vocal range has developed a massive amount in such a short time, as he explores a number of different ranges - which is probably why there seems to be a female part in the song without there actually being a female vocalist.
As for the clip itself, the band is seen in a dark club like setting playing along to the track - as Gow struggles with the mountains of attractive women who are falling all over him. Complete with outlandish costumes, a gold sequin jacket, saxophones and confetti, it's just your everyday party really. It may not have the most intriguing storyline, or have an underlying meaning - but it's visually pleasing and it's exactly what you want to watch to brighten your day.
Also, the band have just announced a substantial tour to c0incide with the album's release date in August. So have a read/watch and get ready for a party like the clip (hopefully).
