Live Review: WATCH: Lana Del Rey 'National Anthem'

4 July 2012 | 1:30 pm | Staff Writer

Living the lives of Monroe and the Kennedy's, the gangster Nancy Sinatra Lana Del Rey is at it again with a video clip for 'National Anthem.'

“Happy birthday Mr President”. The gangster Nancy Sinatra is at it again, with yet another fabulously composed video, this time for her track ‘National Anthem’.

USA born and raised, LANA DEL REY has rode largely on the success of her previous single, ‘Video Games’, and the huge outburst received from her critically acclaimed album, ‘Born To Die’, but it doesn’t stop there. Her continuous success radiating off of the world stage branches not only through her music, but through the way she presents herself and the theatrics of her work.

Wow what a video. Props to LANA DEL REY for her incredible elegance and style. The washed out filters portrayed throughout this patriotic love story emphasise her love for the 50’s, 60’s and the Americana stigma. Featuring rapper A$AP ROCKY, this clever and respective recreation of the lives of John F. Kennedy and Jackie Kennedy has internet critics chomping at the bit. Paired with the hip-hop-esque track, the video fits like a glove.

Every movement, glimmer, shadow and even the era appropriate costumes emphasise the importance of both. Endearingly, Lana has yet again proved to the world the epitome of her beauty, and the measure of her creativity.
