The Frowning Clouds Single Release + Launch Dates

Here's some good news for Melbournians on what we can only assume is a terrible gloomy day (come on, it is Melbourne afterall).

One of the best things to come out of Geelong, THE FROWNING CLOUDS have announced a new single, 'Propellers/Bad Vibes', which is to be released as limited edition Double A side 7" Vinyl at a couple of intimate release shows in their new stomping ground, Melbourne.

This announcement comes off the back of a debut European tour and a coveted spot on the prestigious Dig It Up Festival for the 5-piece, as they slowly but surely make their way up into the elite Australian garage acts. And let's not forget that they're only in their early 20's, if that.

Like, ‘All Night Long’ which received airplay on Triple J and community radio nationally, ‘Propellers’ takes it's stripes from 50's/60's garage rock and channels the raw nature and distortion that The Kinks and even The Kingsmen brought to peoples attention 40+ years ago. It's not surprising that critics are freaking out over their natural talent to produce music that sounds as if it was created way before it's members were born.

'Propellers/Bad Vibes' was produced by Owen Penglis, who has worked with some serious acts of a similar ilk, namely Straight Arrows and Royal Headache and is the second single to be taken from their forthcoming album Paper Jungle - which is due out at some point later this year.

In celebration of the release, The Frowning Clouds are hitting up Melbourne's The Grace Darling later this month. They'll not only be featuring the single, but also other new tracks from their upcoming LP. You can also pick up promo CD's as well as the chance to pre-order the vinyl.
