Live Review: LISTEN: The Rubens 'Don't Ever Want To Be Found'

21 May 2012 | 9:00 am | Staff Writer

The Rubens have come a long way in a year. Their latest single 'Don't Ever Want To Be Found' is from their upcoming album later this year.

Although The Rubens only formed in April of last year, their achievements thus far are phenomenal. Last year, their song 'Lay It Down' came in at #57 on Triple J's Hottest 100. The group have since signed to Ivy League Records and are currently in NYC recording their debut album with David Kahne (who has worked with the likes of Paul McCartney, Regina Spektor, and The Strokes, to name just a few)Today sees the release the first single from the groups debut album, coming later this year. 'Don't Ever Want to Be Found' is a perfect example of the group's blues-saturated rock 'n' roll, with pounding drums, distorted guitars, and floating vocals.

Perhaps the best thing about The Rubens is that you can listen to them with your dad. That's pretty special.
