Live Review: FEATURE ARTIST: Town Hall 'Roots & Bells'

14 May 2012 | 12:00 pm | Staff Writer

Looking for some new music to fall in love with? Town Hall might just tickle your fancy.

I recently revisited why TOWN HALL was a band to take note of and why they stood out to me when I first heard them. I found a piece I wrote describing their Sticky Notes & Paper Scraps EP which was out earlier this year in January -

Scribbling gibberish on creased paper to remind yourself of soon to be forgotten messages. Abandoned would the piece be with only the tainted scent of Issey Miyake lingering in the hope that you would remember it. You leave, you’re out late, the reminder is long gone, and with it, the crushed uncertainty of the once known.

It surely is a bloody good sign when I flesh out a reflective/narrative styled description with what I listen to.

TOWN HALL is an indie folk band based in New York City and have since gone on to release their debut full-length album, ‘Roots & Bells’, in April. This 12-track album amplifies solid production and without a doubt highlights such raw talent.

Be sure to listen to the album below and if we’re lucky enough, they may even venture down under to grace us with their presence. Here’s hoping.
