You know Derwin Schleker right? Well actually, you probably know him as his musical alias, GOLD PANDA. If you don’t you really need to take a long bath and think about where your music tastes are headed.
But to fill you in, he’s a London bred electronic producer signed to cult label Ghostly International - oh and he makes beats that will send you off into a lucid dream state. It feels like it’s been an eternity since Schlekers’ critically acclaimed debut full length, Lucky Shiner, was released in 2010 – but we’re here to let you know that he’s back and smoother than ever.

A number of instrumental bedroom demos have appeared across the net over the last month, most of which are available for free download - ‘4’ is the latest of these tracks and it’s 2.49 of pure bliss. Reportedly it’s a track he apparently made in about ten minutes on his Korg ES-1, but you’d never know. Taking influence from traditional oriental music and even elements of smooth Jazz, ‘4’ provides a very relaxed listen with a complex arrangement. And of course, it has a driving beat typical of all GOLD PANDA creations.
There is no news as to when the next official GOLD PANDA release is due, but in the meantime download ‘4’ below and let him take you away from your day job and subsequently get you fired for sleeping at your desk.
