Live Review: LISTEN: Wolf & Cub 'See the Light'

7 March 2012 | 9:00 am | Staff Writer

Adelaide's Wolf & Cub have released a Tame Impala-esque fusion of swirling guitars and droning vocals for their latest single 'See the Light'

‘See The Light’, from Adelaide-born ensemble WOLF & CUB's double A-sided single is their first release since 2010's Science and Sorcery.

Swirling psychedelic guitars, reminiscent of fellow Australians Tame Impala, open the song up like the first flower bud of spring. Thick vocal melodies warn, “Don’t you leave me like this” in an apathetic drone of sensuality. The song then evolves into a tapestry of high-pitched wailing strings, rolling bass lines and kitsch percussion that complement each other, fusing past musical influences with the contemporary.

This single is the perfect amuse-bouche for Wolf & Cub fans that will satisfy any craving in preparation for the degustation of their upcoming album. Have a taste of it below.
