Live Review: FEATURE ARTIST: The Medics

Australia’s top end has given us many things: lush tropical gardens, stunning beach resorts, deadly (yet so very fascinating) crocodiles…and now, ladies and gents, it’s time to listen up as they now claim credit for the indie-rock sounds of THE MEDICS.

Winner of 'Band of the Year' at the 2010 Deadlys Awards, The Medics have gained recognition for their ethereal music, making them one of Australia’s most exciting new talents, catching the eye of The Vine’s Andrew McMillon (not an easy task!): “The Medics weave their way through rock songs with a melodic pop heart. They seem like a band to believe in.”

With breathy vocals, catchy riffs, epic buildups and breakdowns and killer guitar hooks, their music is chock-full of substance. Known for their commanding stage presence at live gigs, The Medics capture their powerful live energy on their recordings as well, which is lucky for them, as they hook in fans both live and on the airways.
