WATCH: Tanlines 'Brothers'

21 February 2012 | 9:00 am | Staff Writer

Brooklyn duo TANLINES bring out their new video for 'Brothers'. Abby was a little confused, a little saddened and little disappointed.

I recently did the review of TANLINES’ first single, 'Brothers'. If you read that post, I can guarantee you would have caught on that I was simply mesmerised. When I got notice of the new video, I felt like having two cigarettes at once because I thought I was going to burst into confetti with excitement.

But as I got half way through it… I was a little confused, a little saddened and little disappointed. I watched it again, to discover that you could move the screen around (yeah, alright, cool) but the song for me was so much more than this video.

Since then, I have had time to re-watch it a few more times and can artistically respect the video. Jesse Cohen who manages TANLINES' consistently entertaining Twitter account, (If you don’t follow them, hurry up - some ‘lols’ are just a follow away!) released a statement which read ‘figured that shooting it in 360, people will stick around & hear the music, which is what we care about the most, plus was a fun experiment’.

Above you'll find the Weird-Days directed video; to take the full visual spectrum in, just click and drag your mouse along the screen or use your arrow keys (if you have an iPhone, you can watch the video with the Go Pano app). Enjoy, and be sure to look out for ‘Mixed Emotions’ dropping March 20th.
