Live Review: The Rubens Australian Tour

29 February 2012 | 2:00 pm | Staff Writer

Currently in NYC working on their debut album with producer David Kahne, a full Australian tour has been announced for The Rubens in April.

With THE RUBENS currently in NYC working on their debut album with legendary producer David Kahne (Regina Spektor, Paul McCartney, The Strokes), a full Australian tour has been announced for the band in April. It was just 12 months ago that the three brothers and 1 childhood friend from Menangle, NSW weren't even a group. After posting some music on their Triple J Unearthed profile, their single 'Lay It Down' was loved so much by the national broadcaster that they invited them to play at last year's Homebake Festival.

Have a listen to THE RUBENS' breakthrough track 'Lay It Down' below, it's a very musically honest one, that shuffles along in almost a gospel kind of way. Filled with church organs, snappy guitars and beautifully delivered vocals this is sure to have you clapping along and singing 'Hallelujah' all the way through 2012.
