Playground Weekender Festival Cancelled

Very sad to report today that this weekend's Playground Weekender Festival has been cancelled due to very wet weather and possible flooding

Very sad to report today that NSW's PLAYGROUND WEEKENDER FESTIVAL that was scheduled to take place this weekend has been cancelled due to very wet weather. Organisers made the tough decision to call the event off after receiving advice from State Emergency Services of a 70% chance of the grounds flooding, and issued this statement to ticket holders:

"We have been planning this event all year and were anticipating it as much as our guests were. The safety of the guests, artists and staff at the event, and on their way to and from the event, is our main priority. Reluctantly we have followed advice that it would be unsafe to ask people to travel in these weather conditions, and as such the event cannot go ahead."

No comment has yet been made as whether the festival will offer payers refunds on their tickets and organisers are currently in the process of seeking a new site to hold some of the festival's festivities; they went on to say

"As per the ticketing terms and conditions, the organisers of Playground Weekender will contact all ticketholders to inform them of the appropriate course of action imminently. The promoters are also trying to urgently seek a replacement venue for some of the planned festivities to take place. Details of which will be announced if and when they are confirmed."

The Black Lips, Ariel Pink, Roots Manuva, Neon Indian, Manchester Orchestra, Hudson Mohawke, Toucan, Nantes, MillionsBoy & BearNortheast Party House, Elizabeth Rose and Canyons were all scheduled to make appearances at the festival; with so many quality acts, we're certainly devastated by this news.
