Live Review: LISTEN: Azealia Banks ‘Bambi’

Picked by NME as one of the top 20 acts to look out for in 2012 and hyped by Pitchfork since late last year, AZEALIA BANKS is part of the new breed of female MC’s taking the world by storm. Recently signed to Universal, BANKS has been working on her debut album with super-producer Paul Epworth (Florence & The Machine, Adele), while consistently leaking new tracks on the interwebs to keep the buzz going.

‘Bambi’ is the latest track BANKS has released and was used as the soundtrack for fashion label Mugler’s recent show in Paris. While the breathy intro and giggling might put some off, once she gets going, BANKS delivers another rapid-fire verse over a bouncy club beat that just screams fashion.

If this is a sign of what we can expect from her debut, then 2012 could well be the year of AZEALIA BANKS.
