PS: Is this your first time performing outside the US? What aspect of touring Australia are you most looking forward to?

Perseus: I'm most looking forward to meeting my future wife. Must-have criteria: Aussie accent... it's pure rapture to me (even if I don't understand any of it).

PS: Are you a hardware or software kind of producer? What is your favourite software/ hardware instrument to use in your productions?

Perseus: I can barely deal with my own shoelaces, have always been a wireless guy. Software is my sweetheart.

PS: Who is your favourite producer at the moment and who has had the most profound influence on the way you make music?

Perseus: Have never been hung up on artists or producers. I call shenanigans on people going bananas over acts like Lana del Ray or Art Department, but maybe I just don't get it... Nobody's successfully trapped me with their sound other than my own boys (Malinchak, Rathsman, Moon Boots, Tichauer, etc). I draw big influence from the trance and progressive house I grew up with. Can't touch its timeless finesse and elegance (Global Underground, Armin van Buuren's Boundaries of Imagination, Paul van Dyk's Politics of Dancing, Renaissance Series, list goes on).

PS: How many years have you been producing for? Have you been involved in any other projects?

Perseus: Since 2006 -- started out using Reason, tried Cubase for a day, and now Ableton. Have been involved in a couple other projects, but that's secret for now...

PS: The sound you’re involved with at the moment is quite a departure from what was popular in the genre a couple of years ago. How do you think disco has changed?

Perseus: The sound is less of a preset, more of a feeling... the tropical touchstone should immediately inspire a momentary, eyes-closed escape to warmer climes. Some producers are slow to realize that it's not about the steel drum or marimba, but the spirit and journey experienced from the moment you hit play. UB40 for the 21st century. Vacation music, love themes, pool jams.

PS: We’ve heard you have a remix that you’re currently working on at the moment for Sebastien Tellier, how is it sounding?

Perseus: Have not started yet! I usually work intensely a week before the deadline. I enjoy the heat, it spills into the music.

PS: Don’t lie, what’s the number 1 most played track in your iTunes at the moment?

Perseus: Winamp*! Currently charmed with the breakdown of an unnamed Moon Boots production coming out very soon... going to be a tears on the dancefloor, arms in the air track.
