Live Review: Sleigh Bells Announce New Album 'Reign of Terror'

6 December 2011 | 3:46 pm | Staff Writer

Sleigh Bells announce 2012 album 'Reign of Terror' through their brand new website. It is slated to be a lot heavier than it's predecessor

Noise Pop sensation Sleigh Bells burst onto the international stage last year with their debut album Treats which showcased their signature harsh take on current pop music - combining elements of club music production with soaring distorted guitar riffs. It has just been announced that their new album Reign of Terror will be dropping in 2012 and as the contrast between the 1st and 2nd record titles alludes to this one is sounding a lot darker.

The band has just launched a brand new site reignofterror.tv to promote the new release, it features a promo video cutting between a rolling showcase of the New York two-piece on tour and a shot of singer Alexis Krauss brushing her hair while wearing a military uniform. We can only describe the audio track playing over the top the video as very metally, are Sleigh Bells sacrificing the electronic side of their music for this new album? We'll just have to wait and see - 'Reign of Terror' should be out early next year.

Here's a favourite of mine from their last record remixed by one of my favourite LA producers Kingdom.
