Live Review: Das Racist Live On Conan O'Brien

NYC Hipster-Hoppers Das Racist perform live on the Conan O'Brien show

Honestly I'm still not sure how I feel about Das Racist's performance from the Conan O'Brien show on November 28 - on the surface it seems like the live sound could have been a lot better, the group could have been more into it and a lot less sloppy/high as shit. Yes on first viewing this performance seems like a bit of a train-wreck.

Still, I love what New York Hipster-Hoppers Das Racist have been putting out over the last couple of years (See mixtapes 'Sit Down, Man' 'Shut Up, Dude' and 2011 debut album 'Relax') after watching the clip a couple of times their charm becomes undeniably apparent.

If Hip-Hop is going into the 2010's with more of a sense of humour, I'm welcoming it with open arms. Drake's latest release however - despite being one of my favourite albums of 2010, might have something to say about that.

It is worth pointing out that Can't Say resident DJ Tranter's Miami Horror produced group Gameboy Gamegirl were pioneering this kind of music back in 2008, when Odd Future were probably still in middle school. They toured the US off the back of the success of their only EP 'Sweaty Wet/Dirty Damp', disbanding shortly after - I think a comeback is well overdue...
