Originally, emerging as a 3-piece in late 2008 and eventually transforming into its prime gang form, now 12 strong, as of Mid-to-late 2009.

The result is underlying garage pop gems brought to life by an orchestra of guitars and gang vocals and harmonies galore.

More vintage street gang than band, Velociraptor are known largely for their inability to contain their onstage antics to the actual stage, and their incredibly catchy garage pop gems they deliver on the back of an orchestra of guitars and gang vocals.

What's incredible is how coherent the chaos and screaming and shimmying sounds. Their MySpace page - fine as the songs are - really doesn't do the live experience justice. It's like the Mary Chain given a MASSIVE humour injection and several decent songs. It's like Shindig brought to life right in front of your disbelieving eyes. It's pure 60s and it's MASSIVE. Keep your eyes on these guys, as this is only the beginning!

Live, the band has played alongside the likes of You Am I, Little Red, Regurgitator, Shout Out Louds, Neon Indian, John Steel Singers, Violent Soho, Die Die Die at some of Queensland's best events, and most recently performed main support on the QLD leg of Ghostwood's national tour.

With a brand new EP in the works, this will be Velociraptor’s one and only tour this year, and your last chance to catch them before festival season begins.

JUMP TO FUNK is the sub label / love child of JUMP TO THIS pushing musical boundaries in a deep/ jackin and disco house direction. This is the first JTF Party we're throwing so it's set to be a big one showcasing label artists in the front room, showcasing label artists JESUS, YASUMO and label owner and operator HEY SAM.

With supports from natural-born, party-starters J HEASY, AIRWOLF and MAT CANT, this one seems to be a no-brainer!
