Last month, drum and bass aficionados and promoters Shook Crew, Wun Tun, and Wonky Nomad Productions introduced the public to Bass Farm, a new three-day camping event.

This week, Shook Crew announced that, unfortunately, due to circumstances outside their control, the inaugural festival will have to be postponed until later this year. Usually, that would be cause for panic, but as we noted in the headline, all is not lost.

Bass Farm was due to take place from 26-28 April at a secret location just an hour outside of Sydney’s CBD, with camping, BYO, food vendors, a chill-out zone and more listed on a poster.

Organisers advertised the event as a “treat”, asking followers the following questions: “Do you love bass music? Do you enjoy camping with friends or have you ever been curious about the Aussie doof experience?”

The event, which has now been postponed, was set to be a three-day gathering filled with thrilling bass artists and other fun activities.

Announcing the postponement on social media this week, the organisers wrote in a statement, “Unfortunately due to circumstances completely beyond our control we are no longer able to host our 3-day camping event at the property we had lined up.

“We are obviously devastated by this news and have spent the past 2 weeks urgently trying to secure a new location. Sadly we were unable to find something suitable for our April dates so BASS FARM is going to be postponed until later in the year.”

What could have been heartbreaking news has turned into something exciting and a testament to the organisers’ commitment to Bass Farm. Two Bass Farm events are going ahead this year.

A Bass Farm launch party will take place on Friday, 24 May, from 10 pm until late at an undisclosed “inner west location.”

Organisers added, “We still want to showcase some of the incredible artists that were on our original line-up and also give the bass community a chance to come together for a night of fun, freedom and filthy basslines.

“We have secured a special inner-west location for Friday May 24th and can’t wait to celebrate the launch of BASS FARM with you all! Please DM Wonky Nomad Productions SHOOK CREW or WUN TUN for a link to more details.”

The Bass Farm launch party line-up includes Leotrix, Hydraulix, Bassaus Boys, Bella Cool, Liv.jpg, Mandish, Ubermoon, Salaryman, Spuk, Vizio, and Wun Tun.

As Wonky Nomad Productions commented on Instagram, the launch party isn’t exactly what punters were hoping for, “but hot damn this looks juicy!”
