Alison Wonderland Reveals One-Off Sydney Show

Beloved Aussie DJ Alison Wonderland has announced a one-off Sydney show, revealing that she’ll play in Australia for “one night only” before heading to the US for festival season next month.

Taking to Instagram on Monday, she confirmed the show after rumours floated on TikTok and Instagram, as reported by The Pop Cult’s Jessie Lynch. The show is happening on ANZAC Day Eve (Wednesday, 24 April) at Sydney’s Ivy nightclub with special guests Billy Xane, Sillybitchesdie, Sanchez X, and Leenanees.

Wonderland posted the news via a Notes app announcement captioned “AUSTRALIA—ONE NIGHT ONLY”. In the post, she wrote, “Seeing all these festivals getting cancelled makes me sad. I was looking forward to being back in Australia for Groovin… so fuck it, I’m gonna head to Sydney for one night and play a show on April 24 (Anzac day eve).”

She continued, “I won’t be able to bring the full stage setup as planned for GTM… it’s just me travelling with no crew so it’s going to be super stripped back club vibes. It will be my first club set back in oz since Covid so you know we’re gonna go hard.”

Tickets to the one-off show are now on sale via Alison Wonderland’s website.

Last June, Alison Wonderland welcomed her first child with partner Ti West, a baby boy named Max. In a sweet Instagram post and caption, she quipped: “You’re definitely my kid because the only way to calm you down is to play innerbloom by Rufus. Welcome to earth lil one. We love you”.

Sonically, Wonderland’s latest project, Whyte Fang, sees her delve into a "darker and more industrial" side, as is evidenced by her debut album under the moniker, GENESIS, which saw her collaborate with Flatbush Zombie's Erick the Architect for the track SCREAM.

"I really feel like there's a big resurgence at the moment with electronic music. And it feels like it's coming back to the forefront again," Wonderland told Purple Sneakers in a recent interview. "It felt similar to when it was all happening in maybe 2013-2014. There's like a similar buzz. And it's so exciting for me, just to be in the scene and seeing this."
