Listen back to Jerk Boy’s Aussie house throwdown here
Sydney’s JERK BOY is a name those familiar with the local house music circuit will know too well. He’s been a staple in the community for years now, sharing his ear for selection with dancefloors across town at places and parties such as Glitterbox, SASH, The Flinders, Goodbar and heaps more.
He’s more recently teamed up with Kimono for a new number out now via Tinted Records, the house music outlet for its parent label, Central Station Records.
‘Feedback’ is a lowkey house jam, but don’t let that fool you. Its elegant charm will find its feet across dancefloors and venues alike all across town, whether they be sweaty clubs or small bar environments. It’s a track that revels in its versatility, showcasing Jerk Boy‘s innate ability to craft careful, sweeping soundscapes out of a multitude of unseeming sounds.
Kimono‘s soulful vocal adds atmosphere to this one, giving it that classic vocal house vibe whilst not getting bogged down in the conventions of the genre, something Jerk Boy‘s consistently achieved with his sound.
To celebrate the release of the track, he put together a twenty-minute guest mix for our radio show on FBi Radio, dubbing it his ‘Aussie house throwdown’. It’s a third-of-an-hour of power, giving nothing but the country’s best, and topping it all off with Mark Maxwell‘s club-ready take on ‘Feedback’.
Listen below and tune into Purple Sneakers on FBi Radio every Saturday night from 5-6PM locally at 94.5FM, DAB+ or online at fbiradio.com.
