Live Review: Rebel Yell & Exhibitionist perform powerful, punchy techno-pop on 'With You'

In a beautifully fateful turn of events, two of our faves have come together for what can only be described as a match made in heaven. Sydney's Grace Stevenson AKA REBEL YELL and Kirsty Tickle AKA EXHIBITIONIST first met when both artists were on support for These New South Whales. Tickle was performing as one half of Party Dozen.

The pair bonded over their mutual love and understanding of Brissy's underground and tennis, and it was after this that their collaborative track, 'With You', was born.

Produced by Jonathon Boulet (Party Dozen), the pair's first collaboration sees the best elements of both artist's work on display. Rebel Yell's apt ear for punchy beats and relentless synths beautifully juxtaposes Exhibitionist's breathy, powerful voice, a hauntingly intoxicating single emerging from this combination.

The track was written as a joint venture with both artists contributing their ideas and experiences to the single. 'With You' sees both artists bonding over disappointing loves and wholly rewarding friendships, a powerful showing of friendship emerging triumphant.

Rebel Yell and Exhibitionist coming together for this track is the collaboration we didn't know we needed, but we're eternally grateful that it happened.

Catch Rebel Yell on tour over June/July in Australia and Europe, kicking off this Saturday at Purple Sneakers' Thirteenth Birthday as part of Vivid Sydney.
