Live Review: HAAi turns Jessie Ware's 'Adore You' into a heavily textured haven

With her most recent single 'It's Something We Can All Learn From' still hot in our minds, HAAi's back with more, and this time, she's very aptly taken on Jessie Ware's 'Adore You'. Where the single is quietly orchestral, dominated by the lush tone of Ware's voice, HAAi's lifts the big room, electronic orchestral feel and uses the key vocal line to cosmically drive it all forward.

Of the chance to remix the track, HAAi said “I’ve been a long time fan of Jessie Ware’s voice. When I was asked to remix 'Adore You' I was not only drawn to her vocal but also to the instrumentation on the track (also a massive fan of James Ford’s production). I wanted to create a super textured and bassy rework for the vocal to sit on top of. There is also a slightly more trip dub version for the wee hours of the club”.

There's a slow burn that begins to emanate from the opening note. It rumbles throughout, peaking when Ware's vocals blissfully weave in and out of the heavily textured soundscape, blissfully closing with the low rasp of a static signal.

It's been a stellar couple of months for HAAi. After taking out the title for BBC's 'Essential Mix of the Year', she then went on to host her own monthly residency on Radio 1. She's been touring the globe, stopping in Australia in October of last year to head up Sydney's Output Festival and more. She's set to play shows at festivals such as GlastonburyAVAField Day and more over the European summer.
