Live Review: Al Dente delves into percussive rhythm in her guest mix

2 April 2019 | 11:45 am | Caitlin Medcalf

One thing I love about curating the guest mixes every week for Purple Sneakers on FBi Radio is getting the opportunity to give some of our stellar local selectors the op to do their thing and go nuts. This week, Alex Stevenson AKA AL DENTE hopped on the guest mix and delivered 20 minutes of power.

For those unfamiliar with Al Dente, she's one half of party favourites Fox Force II (the other half being FBi Radio's Bridie Tanner) and has been playing parties across town including Comfy GrrlLazy Susan and more. Bringing infectious deep club cuts to all corners of Sydney, she's injected her keen ear for dancefloor-ready tunes into this mix.

She mentioned to me that this mix sees a new direction creatively for her. Weaving the unconventional sounds of HAAi in with the mergence of Middle Eastern influence provided by DJ Plead and capping it all off with Danvers' eye for percussive house, it makes for excellent listening.
