Shot For Sneakers: Sweater Curse
Purple Sneakers has teamed up with emerging photographer Joseph Crackett of ONLY ODD to hand pick and shoot some of the hottest artists performing at this year’s BIGSOUND. The series, titled #SHOTFORSNEAKERS, focuses on Purple Sneakers and Only Odd’s shared passion of emerging artists. Over the coming weeks we’ll be revealing selections from the shoots, shot by Joseph in Brisbane’s Winn Lane.
Today, we’re very excited to share SWEATER CURSE.
The three piece from Brisbane have spent 2018 burning rubber all along the east coast in support of their blistering single ‘Can’t See You Anymore’, supporting the likes of Polish Club, Phantastic Ferniture & Seaside and finding the time for a run of shows in between those too including BIGSOUND. Their unique take on indie rock has seen them go from strength to strength this year, clocking over 30k streams on Spotify, being added to spot rotation on triple j, FBi Radio and more stations around the country AND being named one of triple j Unearthed‘s feature artists too.
Their latest single ‘Can’t See You Anymore’ has seen the band go from a bedroom three-piece to a fully-fledged band, and it’s with this track that it really feels like they’ve stepped it up a whole hundred notches. They’ve found who they are, their sound and best of all, they look like they’re having a damn good time doing it too.
