‘Alone With You Pt. 2’ is the first single release this year for LA-based dream-pop/ electro duo RKCB. It’s the second instalment to the song ‘Alone With You’ which was released last year and was about three emotions that can occur throughout the course of a relationship- empowerment, vulnerability and the feeling of being forgotten.

‘Alone With You Pt. 2’ revisits these feelings, this time from the new personal perspectives of RKCB themselves- artists Riley Knapp and Casey Barth to be precise. The new song fixates on the distance between two lovers and the longing to reconnect. Both haunting and sensual, ‘Alone With You Pt. 2’ touches on the thoughts and feelings so strong that most dare not to bring them to the surfaces of their minds.

In terms of sound, RKCB have used a great mix of analogue and digital production techniques to create a truly unique track. Particular mention must be awarded to their use of percussion and the manipulation of vocals to create a song that sounds organic yet warped in all the right places and with layers of electronic and acoustic intertwining.

This isn’t just an aural release either, as RKCB have gone to great lengths to release a cinematic music video to complement the blockbuster single. Natural landscapes and strobing light shows contrast to mimic the sonic elements of the song and the gorgeous dancer Sarah Polednak lends her talent to make the video truly mesmerising. Director Mike O’Brien said that working with RKCB was “amazing. I love collaborating with artists who can convey the soul and passion of life through their music. They are the true essence of art and creativity.” (not bad praise, guys). With over a million Spotify plays to their name, a spot supporting Flight Facilities on their Australian tour and new work underway, 2019 is going to be huge for RKCB and we can’t wait.
