#SHOTFORSNEAKERS: Kwame

19 September 2018 | 5:20 pm | Staff Writer

The next artist in our #SHOTFORSNEAKERS series is the one and only Kwame, who will undoubtedly be one of the biggest names in Aus music in the next year!

Purple Sneakers has teamed up with emerging photographer Joseph Crackett of ONLY ODD to hand pick and shoot some of the hottest artists performing at this year’s BIGSOUND. The series, titled #SHOTFORSNEAKERS, focuses on Purple Sneakers and Only Odd’s shared passion of emerging artists. Over the coming weeks we’ll be revealing selections from the shoots, shot by Joseph in Brisbane’s Winn Lane.

Today, we’re very excited to share KWAME.

Easily one of the most hyped acts of the week by far, KWAME's star has risen astronomically this year. Thanks to a chance encounter with ASAP FERG that resulted in him being brought up on stage during Ferg's set, this was the moment that KWAME needed to realise he needed to be making music for himself (considering he was producing for countless artists at the time). Then, it was his single, 'WOW', that put him on the map as a fresh force in the Australian hip-hop scene and it's been non-stop ever since. Having performed at this year's SPLENDOUR IN THE GRASS, currently on tour with TKAY MAIDZA and with no signs of slowing down, KWAME will undoubtedly be one of the biggest names in Australian music in twelve months time.
