From the studio to the stage: Paces teams up with Abelton for free BIGSOUND workshop
Living legend and all-round good guy PACES is one of the 100+ acts set to descend on Brisbane’s Fortitude Valley this year for the annual BIGSOUND conference and festival, and his set is already being hyped as one not to miss. But, BIGSOUND is so much more than a festival or a place to schmooze with a few beers – it’s also a place to learn, to share skills and to help emerging artists grow which is why the news of a free workshop from the man himself is so exciting.
Teaming up with ABELTON, PACES will be delivering a one hour workshop on Abelton Live, demonstrating his approach to building a live show in the program. He’ll share insights into the challenges he’s faced with translating his studio projects to the stage and how he’s overcome them, as well as giving a snapshot into how he translates his studio work into live work.
For any PACES fans out there, they’ll know the hefty resume the Gold Coast producer possesses. With his 2016 album, Vacation, he shot to national and international fame and success with his extensive collaborations and ability to somehow bottle sunshine and turn it into song. Gearing up for his second album release this year, PACES has gone onto deliver one of the most popular Like A Version’s of all time on triple J (teaming up with Guy Sebastian no less), and has most recently released a slew of singles and toured the country many times over. If there’s one person you’d want to take tips from for creating music, it’s pretty safe to say Paces is it.
