Sydney producer RYDEEN might've only been in the game for a minute, but he's crafting music so refined and evolved, you'd think he's a bonafide veteran on first listen. His latest single, 'Conflux (FBi Mix)', is taken from his Trail Space Mixtape he released earlier this year, and while it leans into bass and grime influences, it still possesses the same percussion-lead, explorative side of Rydeen that makes him so exciting to listen to.

A sonic sprawl of eclectic synths and percussion, Rydeen leads you on a kaleidoscopic journey on 'Conflux (FBi Mix)'. Splicing itself and blooming into something new over and over again, the unpredictable song uses its erratic nature to its advantage, with Rydeen knowing exactly when to add a little in or take a whole lot away. Dynamic and enthralling, it maintains a steady groove as it snakes its way through its various evolutions, from sparse and downtempo moments to bouncing, upbeat breaks.

Taken from his Trail Space MixtapeRydeen detailed the origins of his first body of work, noting it documents a series of computer music experiments from 2015-2017, created between Sydney, the South Coast of NSW and long trips on the Princes Highway. 'Conflux (FBi Mix)' was written for a DJ mix Rydeen did on FBi Radio earlier this year, and by releasing it as a single, he's paying homage to the Sydney institution. Mixing glitched vocals with digitised acoustics, Rydeen shows a different side to his craft on 'Conflux (FBi Mix)' - a side we hope to see much more of in the future.
