Live Review: Haiku Hands drop their delightfully wacky video for 'Not About You'

13 December 2017 | 9:50 am | Jackson Langford

When HAIKU HANDS released their monstrous debut single, 'Not About You', a few months ago, there's no way they could've expected the sheer impact it would have. With a chaotic chorus, a raucous bassline and the most charming screams like "I'mma kick your arse!" you'll ever hear, 'Not About You' has set its course firmly on being the quintessential party song of the year. And now, that song has a video to go with it and it's just as wild, rambunctious and irresistibly fun as we've come to expect.

In essence, the entire video is just like the song it was made for: one non-stop party. It features the members of Haiku Hands in different landscapes and different outfits - special love to those dressing gowns - delivering the razor sharp lyrics of 'Not About You' with undeniable confidence and attitude.

The bond that the bandmates share feels like, from an outsider's perspective at least, an unshakable sisterhood, and this video exemplifies that perfectly. There's a youthful silliness to this video that feels like it could've been made by your 12-year-old sister and her friends, but a refined and restrained sense that proves Haiku Hands are here to work - play just comes as an all-too delectable bonus.
