Live Review: Feels cast their spells in this magical guest mix

1 December 2017 | 8:27 am | Emma Jones

Perth-based duo FEELS (aka percussionists/producers Elise Reitze and Rosie Taylor) are two classically trained musicians that make some of the most intricate pieces of electronic music to emerge from Australia in, well, ever. With such a precise and meticulous approach, their songs are dreamy soundscapes that completely envelope you in both awe of their sheer talent and how spectacular the songs really are. Layers upon layers swirl together to make something feels otherworldly, and because of this, it's not surprising at all that the word about Feels is quickly spreading around the country.

Having played fantastic shows at BIGSOUND and opening up the Perth leg of LISTEN OUT, the duo's reputation of being something different and special precedes them. As we said of them in regards to their recent single, 'Glasshouse', Feels "exude extensive virtuosity as they articulate their own unique musical language, undoubtedly conversant with minimalist style polyrhythms that are often exhibited in contemporary dance music." Having also released their debut EP just a couple of weeks ago titled Emerald, this release is a deeper dive into the world of Feels- one that is spellbinding and magical.

So, in saying all of this, it's pretty evident we're big fans of this duo, so we're incredibly excited to have them on guest mix duties for our radio show this weekend on FBi RADIO. 20 minutes of utter bliss, Feels have really outdone themselves with this mix.
