Live Review: Haiku Hands get the Jaytee Hazard treatment with his 'Not About You' remix

Less than a week before their debut headlining show at the Lansdowne, Haiku Hands have dropped a brand new remix of 'Not About You' by Newcastle producer Jaytee Hazard. The remix comes alongside the announcement that Jaytee Hazard will be a special guest at the Lansdowne show, as will Sydney producer Mookhi, who will open the show alongside Billie Rose.

Haiku Hands dropped their debut single, 'Not About You', back in July to nationwide acclaim, introducing their genre-bending, dance-floor melting sound in spectacular fashion. As a driving force of the Sydney electronic scene, it's little wonder they've paired with Jaytee Hazard, who has produced for the likes of Hilltop Hoods and Urthboy, as well as having played sets alongside Public Enemy, Hilltop Hoods and Ice Cube.

Jaytee Hazard's remix turns the original into a glitchier, heavier banger full of additional rhythms and sounds that expertly complement the original elements. The fat hook of the original that captivated so many listeners has been warped and shifted almost randomly, as through run through the world's finest beat repeat processor. The simple drums are assisted by some crisp snare, rims and half-step hats that do wonders in ramping up the club nature of the track. Overall, it's a more raw and fierce companion to the original track, and one that is sure to find its way on many dancefloors in time.

Haiku Hands are rounding off a massive tour of Australia's coast, with headlining shows in NSW during November, before hitting up Melbourne Music Week and the Wonderland Scarehouse Project. Dates for all of these can be found below.
