Melbourne electronic maestro BRAILLE FACE has made his second single offering for 2017 with a dance-evoking new number, ‘Faraway’. This latest release follows closely on from ‘Run For Your Life’ a couple of months back and further unveils his artistic reinvention after a year-long dormancy.

Braille Face, aka Jordan White, debuted his album Kōya in mid-2016, drawn from a personal project where he privately wrote and released twelve albums over a twelve-month period. Jordan has undoubtedly made lyrical vulnerability and sonic experimentation Braille Face’s archetype, with his artistic poise and refinement irrefutably shining through his recent showcase at BIGSOUND (which bloody well blew our socks off!).

‘Faraway’ is an impeccable reintroduction to Braille Face's vibrant and emotionally resonant world, serving itself up as an anomalously fresh and playful tune.

What started as an offhand joke from a friend who dared him to write a house track quickly grew into something more when Jordan landed on a curious refrain, "I can't get that far away without you", which ultimately solidified itself as a slick and supple sentiment that gives the otherwise flippant track a striking signature edge.

‘Faraway’ opens with suspended house-styled synth pads, radiating a soft pulse of warm tones that set the stage for Jordan’s soulful vocals. Intermittent shifts from richer vocal tones to delicate falsettos play anchor to the swirling mass of instrumental harmonies and sonic textures amidst the track’s diaphanous percussive rhythms.

With two stellar new singles under his belt and a vibrant live band behind him, Braille Face is well and truly poised for a breakout year in 2018 - so it's pretty safe to assume that there's lot more where this came from. Watch this space!
