Triple J Unearthed High finalist and total young dynamo NINAJIRACHI has just dropped an extraordinary remix of KILTER's thumping tune ‘Waste Time’.

We first heard ‘Waste Time’ earlier this year when it heralded the arrival of Kilter’s debut album Through The Distortion back in June. Now, the senselessly talented Ninajirachi has taken it on, whose fresh, fancy-free tunes have got us in a little bit of a frenzy (along with everybody else no doubt).

The 17-year-old producer has consistently proven her ability to create poised compositions amid a distinctive flair, with her recent single, 'Pure Luck' ft. Freya Staer serving as a breakthrough track to expose Ninajirachi to the masses. With Nina currently on the road for her first national tour with the Listen Out festival, this remix of ‘Waste Time’ really only adds to the excitement.

Ninajirachi’s rework immediately opens into a wash of her signature sonic palette as a nostalgic, tropical-fuelled synth line commandeers the introduction, meeting the verse with a bolder cut of the original's oscillating synth pads alongside punchy beats and a driving bass line. Where Kilter’s original drops into a massive chorus, Nina instead pulls back into a softer territory to conjure a minimalistic cosmic daydream, creating an inverse juxtaposition to the song’s dynamic flow.

Ninajirachi’s remix of ‘Waste Time’ is a pure assembly of smooth summer vibes, pairing well with a refreshing fruity beverage both poolside and club-side.

If you’re in Sydney or Brisbane, you can catch Ninajirachi along with some other pretty phenomenal talents at Listen Out this weekend. Full details are available HERE. If not, you can also catch her at The Plot in Parramatta, Sydney on November 18. Details on that HERE.
