You might have noticed we've been loving Melbourne electronic pop duo ALTA, and once you hear their eclectic electorica mix for our show, you will too.

You might have noticed we've been loving Melbourne electronic pop duo ALTA, and once you hear their new mix for our show you will too. Their melding of commanding percussion, dreamy synths and unique vocals make for instant "ones to watch" status.

Their brand of soulful pop dance music has taken a turn since the release of their EP last year. The duo's new single 'Fix It' has the duo feeling more sure of themselves, exploring more danceable beats and pop sounds. Alongside their upcoming slot at BIGSOUND where they're due to drop more of these new tunes, we had ALTA deliver us a guest mix to give us a taste of what's to come.

With BIGSOUND just days away, ALTA have put together a short mix of past BIGSOUND artists, calling it a mix of "ghosts of BIGSOUNDs past."

"All artists have featured in previous years and it’s got some dark vibes to it. Did a bootleg remix in here too for fun hope you dig it!" 20 minutes seems to stretch on forever as ALTA guides us through eclectic electronic soundscapes through the mix. They've selected a number of tunes by their creative friends from their hometown Melbourne, around Aus and beyond who've all at one stage played at BIGSOUND. Meditative beats are contrasted with energetic drums and echoing vocals ebb over under glitchy synths. Listen below to get a taste of this new era of ALTA, as well as reminiscing about some of our true favourite emerging artists.
