Brisbane’s MALLRAT has at last unveiled her visual accompaniment for her hit single ‘Uninvited’, following on from the EP's debut last year.

Brisbane’s MALLRAT has at last unveiled her visual accompaniment for her hit single ‘Uninvited’. The track was originally released last year as the title track to her debut EP, proving to be the kickstarter of the immense wave of excitement around this unique new talent.

It has undoubtedly been a crazy 18 months for this lil lass, with the debut of her Uninvited EP which basically caught the eyes of the world and sparked our own undying desire for more. Sometimes we can be a little greedy with our yearning for new tunes forever and always, but this ineffably different and refreshing fusion of pop sounds and grungy not-quite-rap is really a necessity.

‘Uninvited’ is fundamentally relatable, as Mallrat effortlessly expresses not wanting to have to go to parties and events full of fake and boring people. This, added in with the further reveal of her singing side, made this track a bona fide home run.

Directed by Rory Pippan, this long awaited official video is quirky as hell and completely bursting with colour and cool. The scene opens inside your cliché convenience store get-up, complete with the awkward guy at the counter that somehow makes the already tense shopping experience even more uncomfortable.

That feeling of unease is pretty temporary thanks to Mallrat's (aka Grace Shaw) solid repping of a Juicy Couture tracksuit as we see the narrative’s other leading lady following bright coloured smoke down the rabbit hole and into the desert. There’s animals, stunts, killer dance moves and some crazy intriguing video editing - it’s probably best to just watch it now.

Mallrat recently signed a deal with Dew Process so word on the street is new music will be hitting our ears later this year (again, need not greed). She is also gearing up to appear at Maroochy Music & Visual Arts Festival (MMVAF) on Saturday 26th August, performing alongside big name acts like Alison Wonderland and The Presets. Most tickets have already sold out, but you can still find limited number of final release tickets available HERE.
