LANKS reveals what keeps him 'Comfortable' on tour

Melbourne producer and multi-instrumentalist LANKS is poised to reach new heights with his latest single 'Comfortable'. The song follows breakout singles ‘Bitter Leaf’ and ‘Holla’, and explores new and intense territory. As LANKS explains, the single was written from the perspective of a close friend who works in the mental health industry. “Mental health is still an area we are learning how to approach and talk about, and it is not an easy job to just turn up to work for and then leave at the office," he says. "It is emotionally challenging.”

LANKS' ethereal vocals are mesmerising on this track, but the frantic melody foreshadows the tumultuous emotional journey of the lyrics. Lucky for us, we will get a chance to see him perform live on a national headline tour in support of the single very soon.

The tour will kick off this Saturday at Leadbelly in Sydney, and continue through Brisbane, Melbourne and Perth, so we asked LANKS what he'll be taking round the country with him. You can check it all out here, as well as tour dates below!

Enormous headphones

Good quality studio headphones not only sound great but they also make you look pretty weird. 

Lemon and ginger tea

I should probably already have an endorsement for this, as I not only drink copious amounts of Twinings Lemon and Ginger tea, but I also got Vera Blue hooked on it and I’ve seen it in her green room since. That was a proud moment.

Quality company

You’re never short of this with my crew. My band are all my best friends and we talk about feelings, relationships and football incessantly on tour. Go Dees!

Travel-sized toothpaste

This one’s a killer. After a post-gig McD’s cheeseburger run you do NOT want to be caught without toothpaste. Need to wake up feeling fresh and this is basically the opposite.

A good reading book

The latest book I am reading on tour is  Murakami's 'Norwegians Wood'. I’m currently reading a very large hard-cover book about the science of cooking which I am trying to tour with but is proving to be very impractical.

Bank card

I am currently away and lost my bank card and let me tell you, life is proving to be quite difficult. But also cheaper, 'cause everyone else is paying for me.
