Live Review: Hypersleep and Oliver Sol team up as Hypersol with 'Crawlspace'

Melbourne producers HYPERSLEEP and OLIVER SOL have combined their electronic forces for a new project - HYPERSOL, and if the first single 'Crawlspace' is anything to go by, they're going to be one powerful duo.

The two artists have been playing aroundMelbourne's electronic field for a while now, with Sol's 'How Did You Know' featuring Citizen Kay, and Hypersleep's Charcoal EP garnering them both attention earlier this year. Their new project sees them combining their styles of dark electro-pop and EDM, respectively.

'Crawlspace' starts with ethereal pads and a pounding kick and percussion rhythm, before some highly effected vocals croon over developing keys and atmosphere. The track kicks off at just the right time with the looping vocals, modulating arpeggiated keys and layered percussion developing a gorgeous wall of sound.

The pair have brought the best parts of their sound together with Hypersol, and as a proof-of-concept 'Crawlspace' hits the mark. Blending electro-pop with more dancefloor focused beats and hooks, it's the best of both worlds and a good sign of things to come from the duo.
