Bus Vipers takes us on a tour of Sydney's secret spots

31 August 2017 | 11:25 am | Holly O'Neill

With his unique tastes we asked BUS VIPERS to show us around Sydney, showing us all the sights, food and art that his town has to offer.

After a few years out of the spotlight, fuzzy rock artist BUS VIPERS has returned. He's mastered his falsetto and honed his sound and aesthetic to create a completely unique experience through his music. His advanced psychedelic pop mixed with the equal parts unsettling and hypnotising visuals have firmly established this as a new era for the artist.

His debut EP Federal Highway is due for release in the coming weeks and is bound to be full of more distorted guitars and left of centre imagery. With his unique tastes, we just had to ask Bus Vipers, also known as Sydneysider Daniel Ahern, to show us his favourite spots in his home town. He takes us off the beaten track showing us all the sights, food and art that his town has to offer.

Spot 1 - All you can eat pizza Monday’s at Pizza Birra: drink only water all day and then let loose.

Spot 2 - Cake Wines: some great DJ nights here, plus artist talks and the Two Up series.

Spot 3 - Underbelly Arts Festival: The line-up this year is a cracker – Prue Stent and Honey Long, Eugene Choi and Marcus Whale, Gussy, Jikaroux and more.

Spot 4 - Abduls: service with a frown, prepare yourself for a garlic-y tour de force.

Spot 5 - Field of Mars Reserve: good for walking around and listening to albums, close to where I’m living.
