Live Review: Get moving to Nina Las Vegas' new heater 'Freeze'

17 July 2017 | 5:25 pm | Holly O'Neill

Nina Las Vegas is one busy woman. Alongside running her label NLV Records and planning to hit America and Europe on her upcoming international tour, she's still got the time to spoil us with a new track just a month after her previous release. With 'Freeze' she's back to the instrumentals, and, ironically enough, this one's a heater.

Growing off a warbled vocal and snappy bells, the track builds quickly pushing us headfirst into a huge soundscape. The drop is almost cinematic with grand angelic chords playing against a thudding kick and arpeggiated bleeps and bloops.

Nina Las Vegas has really carved out her own sound with these new releases, and in this one the attention to detail in every little layer really shows. All the synths and drums are fine tuned, bringing those rubbery sounds and otherworldly vibes she's known for throughout the entire track.

'Freeze' is a track Nina made in response to more intense EDM sounds, saying, "It's hard to find dance music that is still tough yet not too bro-y. It's one of the main reasons I started NLV Records!" This track can totally hold it's own in huge sets but the calibre of production makes 'Freeze' as solid in headphones as it is in the club.

Through pioneering her own sound, championing similar artists through her label and releasing boundary pushing tracks like 'Freeze', Nina Las Vegas is shifting perspectives on what club and dance music sounds like.
