Live Review: Harry Fox strikes gold twice with powerful new track 'Banks'

HARRY FOX is making 2017 his year to rule. After dropping the relentless and thumping 'All For It' with DONNY CASPER, Fox could have very easily followed down that route. However, Harry Fox is determined to steer clear of the tropes and stereotypes that have claimed so many producers before him. In that process, 'Banks' was born and it has cemented Fox as one to look out for.

'Banks' is drenched in emotion at every possible corner. From the sounds of rain that sweep the intro, you can tell that this is going to be a very different endeavour for Harry Fox. However, what remains consistent is the absolute power Fox fashions into all of his work. The drop in the chorus is festival ready and makes way for the anthemic vocal delivery of newcomer SOPHIE BRIDGES.

What's truly refreshing about having a voice like Sophie Bridges' on this track is that her deep and powerful delivery is far from the high-pitched, airy voices we usually here collaborating with Australian producers. "Let the fire from my eyes burn down upon your skin / If we only had more time, but the pain is just too real," she sings with an alluring mix of confidence and vulnerability.

During the creation of the track, Harry Fox has stated that he experienced a tremendous amount of grief. "During the creation of this track, two of my friends very suddenly passed away," Fox said on his Facebook page. "It was a huge shock, but channeling everything that happened into this song definitely helped me get through. I hope everyone who hears it knows it's a song for healing."

It's awe-inspiring that a song that is so heart-wrenching can be so powerful, and it's awe-inspiring to see that Harry Fox can channel such intense emotion into such a personal yet booming track. This man is no gimmick, friends - he's in this for the long haul.
