Luchii and Jose Halftime team up on ‘Late Night Blues’

Perth based producer LUCHII has teamed up with Jose Halftime releasing a catchy new single “Late Night Blues”.

“Late Night Blues” follows Luchii‘s style of lo-fi instrumental hip hop beats. Bright melodic guitar samples and boom bap beats are married with tinkering synths producing a fresh take on a classic sound. Jose Halftime‘s laid back delivery complements perfectly, his flow sophisticated and cool. A breakdown halfway through the song switching it up to half-time shows off Luchii‘s knack for digging up quality samples from the vault.

Luchii released his album Boof Island back in March and it’s one of the most exciting releases in Australian hip hop we’ve seen this year. Almost every track has a quality feature from an eclectic mix of up and coming rappers including label mate Black Napoleon and Sydney’s Big Skeez. In a scene dominated by a certain brand of trap, Luchii brings some welcome diversity to the table.

As a part of the Home Baked label/collective, Luchii, Evanda and the rest of the roster have been putting Perth on the map for hip hop, bursting the Sydney/Melbourne/Brisbane bubble. With several releases under their belt this year already, they are no doubt a group to keep an eye on.
