CURVY Creative Women’s Conference announces ‘Like A Girl’ launch party in support of FemFound
The annual CURVY Creative Women’s Conference is set to once again take place this year, as an official part of VIVID Ideas. Held over four days, the conference has become something of a melting pot of brilliant women sharing boundary-breaking ideas, and this year is set to be no different.
However, what is different this year is the official launch event, which we here at Purple Sneakers had the honour of curating. Naming the event, ‘Like A Girl,’ we’re challenging the common (and incorrect) thoughts that are linked to this phrase, and instead are owning everything that comes with it. Think ‘Like A Girl,’ talk ‘Like A Girl,’ create ‘Like A Girl’ – the list goes on. As with CURVY, we believe in the power of female-identifying creators, thinkers, writers, speakers, artists and more, and we’re (with the help of some very special friends) reclaiming it all.
Purple Sneakers editor Emma Jones has proudly curated a line up and selected some of our favourite artists to kick off the 2017 conference in style, we’ve put together a sensational line up of some of the most exciting artists from Sydney and beyond, including CODA CONDUCT, EBONY BOADU, FLEXMAMI, MATKA, MEZKO, MISS BLANKS and NAP GIRLS. Emma will also be speaking at Day 1 of the conference.
This isn’t just your average launch party, though. This launch party is also being held in support of FEMFOUND, a charity that is very close to us here which is a community approach to help rape survivors through art therapy. Entry to this event will be by donation, and all proceeds will be going directly to FemFound.
So, you can party and do a good deed at the same time come June 1st, when it all goes down at Freda’s. Kicking off from 7pm until 11pm, come and join us for this very special night!
