Amastro reels us in with his clean cut Guest Mix

Canberra-born, Sydney-based musician Angus Murphy is a man of many talented pursuits. Juggling varietal instruments, mastering production and exhaling angelic notes in song, his artistry has been compacted harmoniously into the AMASTRO project.

Since dropping his self-titled body of work that was lead by the emotive ‘Bloodshot Heart‘, Amastro has stomped on a series of festival stages, including giants Splendour In The GrassYours & OwlsGroovin’ The Moo and even went el troppo over in Fiji for Your Paradise. Delivering more than just that primal EP, Amastro has expanded his catalogue with a few collaborations, including his latest single ‘Don’t Let Me’ featuring Sara Flint.

A rusty vocal filter imbues the nostalgic, distant memory to carry the weight of ‘Don’t Let Me’. Synth breaks eventually marry up to an array of percussive bodies, driven by the fluffy piano line and pulsating beat; an aesthetically symbolic resonant for a track that aches for past relationships and connectivity. Paying homage to those important figures that continue to reside in his hometown, Amastro‘s vocal duet with Sara Flint complete the journey that is ‘Don’t Let Me’.

A track you’ll find cushioned amongst other originals, edits and personal favourites, spend the next half hour with Amastro as he treats you to a very clean cut house mix for our Purple Sneakers FBi Click show.
